Merry Christmass to the injured
Yes, we had a great weekend. Yes, it had snow. Yes, Christmas is coming this week , and we all hope to get some new snowboard gear. But lets not forget our fallen brethren. So far we started the season down one rider due to pregnancy. Since then a few others have fallen off. Miah broke a rib, Paola tweaked her knee in the snow storm (on Hunter one) and Joe Sadler injured his head, neck, chest, back, and pride attempting something awesome, somewhere, at some time, in the last week, I am sure. But there is one person I feel for the most. Dave. last year he broke his left ankle the second week of the season, and was done. This year he took another bad fall and broke his right foot so bad it needed some titanium and screws to put it back together. He will be out for at least 2 months. That is good because his car wont be thawed out until march.
Merry Christmas Dave!

Happy Holidays, folks! Love, Scottie Ya-bo’s and Princess Laroux. Scottie has been pregnant for 4 years now. As you can see he’s well lactated.
2 commentsAttention all Skiers, the Quad is Now Open!
Never thought I’d see the day it looked like winter at Hunter. Roughly 2ft of snow dumped on the mountain over the weekend and it’s only December! Only thing keeping me from the top… is the quad. Sure, there’s other alternative lifts, but ultimately you end up at the quad. Word on the street was that last week the new engine they bought used, caught on fire and the lifts were stuck for about 3 hours.
This past weekend we rode the west side, practically all of Sunday. Poaching, hiking access roads, just to get a little taste of what it’s partly like at a real mountain that got snow. Only if Clare was a mile longer. And in British Columbia. And it was called Whistler. Anyhow, we decide to head to the pit. We arrive at the top of the Quad and 2 burly men in orange jackets are smashing away with hammers, on top of the last tower. Aww, look at that, the quad’s broken again – go figure? We arrive at the bottom and prepare to drink.

Couple hours later, Scottie and I walk out the main lodge smoke a butt, and chat with an instructor. He tells of a story of a 13 year old autistic boy he had been teaching that day. The kid, autistic, is deathly afraid of the quad. I hate the quad. All the same shit. So this instructor tries to help him conquer his fear – get’s him on the quad to ride down Belt. He got on the quad with this kid at the same time I saw them hammering away at the tower. This kid freaks the fuck out when the chair stops. And 20 minutes into this ordeal, he’s convulsing. 2 snowboarders on the same chair are trying to console him. The instructor has his ski pole wedged in between the chair and this kid, so that he doesn’t go into a seizure and dive off to the bottom. The instructor calls his mom and explains the situation that their stuck on chair 38.
10-15 minutes later, ski patrol roll up and try to console the tormented boy. They ask him his name and tell him everything is going to be o.k. The kid is staring down at them, having a conversation. Without realizing it, the boy stopped thinking about the lift being stuck, after the ski patrol guy asks him, “What do you want for Christmas!”
The autistic kid replies, “A NEW QUAD!!!”
Hunter, let’s give this gifted boy what he wants for Christmas, post haste. I mean, for the 2 extra dollars you charge for a ticket on holidays, you retards can expend the extra cash for a new engine. Or pay lawyer fees.
