Summer is over and Snowboarding is within our grasps

Hey guys,

Long time to post, I know…and I’m sorry. But, while the summer kept us most away from our computers (I hope it did for you guys though didn’t happen for me) I hope that everyone is starting to look ahead in the future to the upcoming snowboarding season.

This year should be decent for me because I plan on going to British Columbia to go snowboarding at a mtn called Kicking Horse. It’s about 2 hrs out of Calgary and my friend from New Zealand is going to be working as a snow maker. So, hopefully, free riding and good place to crash. If anyone wants to tag along I’ll be going up in Dec-Jan.

As for looking further in the year–if you don’t know– The Meadowlands is creating a huge multi-purpose mall with a side built INDOOR SKI RESORT! Xanadu, though not open till next may, will allow most of us (who live within the tri-state area) to snowboard 150+ snowboard days without having to travel to Camelback, Mt Creek, Hunter Mtn and so on.

Xanadu
This is what xanadu looks like from Rt 3.
What I also want to bring to people’s attention is whether or not people need a place to Rent for the Hunter Mtn Season. Ray, a ski instructor, will be renting out his place for the year. I am not sure of the price or for how long but if you’re looking for a place, e-mail me at KngCloudis@aol.com and I’ll give you his contact info.
Hope all is well! EZ

Just stoppin in…

Crew,

Hope all of you are having a good summer and reprazentin in whatever the hell it is that you get up to this time of the year.Things on the Nu England coast is good-so far.Got some swell pullin through so whenever i am home i tear this side a new hole surfing or kitesurfing. The lack of etiquette in the line up is insane so its a good place to unleash my inner child-that mean little fucker all of you know.

I am hoping to ride with you all this winter when i have liberty/leave.There are some good hills out here for exploration and the lack of frontside joey’s sometimes tends to be a little frustrating. The superpipes never get crowded like Hunter’s hole so that is a plus but with no crew to roll with defeats the purpose of laying down the law-no one understands that one out here.Jack….manboobs…you know what i mean.Ill even include babydick in this one.

Anyways,be safe out there… till winter until we attempt suicide b-lining hellgate at mach 12 buzzin city’ots and the joey’s.

I got your backs-bustin my ass to save yours.

Looking for house mates?

With a new season on the horizon it is time to fill up the LIFT House. I need definate answers. As of now the lift house includes has 4 definatly: me, Jason, A.T and his fireman friend. Carlos is M.I.A. but i will count him as the “fif”. As always I am looking for a $1200 dollar share but if the house is nice enough i will go for $2000 each share. The more people that are in, the bigger the place. so i need to know.
Last year we tried to save some money. big mistake, this year we are going PIMP

This years house will have a hot tub, fireplace, and a fenced in yard for the Dogs.

If you are looking for a share, have questions, or not sure if you want to come in with us, leave a post here. others will see it and may get in touch with you for their houses

Looking for a summer project?

While most of you are probably not in front of your computers due to the beautiful weather we have had (after the horrible heat uprising), there may be some of you who are still traveling to this site for updates.

While Scotty D. was busting my balls about not posting I have yet to see him post. And yes, Scott, I am calling you out.

Anyways, are you looking for a summer project? There are a whole bunch of things you can do for this summer. For starters, build your own snowboard deck!

You can either (A) http://www.grafsnowboards.com/index.php?url=Home
Build it yourself
or (B)
http://www.rideharder.com/revolution/build_a_board.php
Design it and someone else will build it for you. This is pretty cool, it costs about the same as buying a new board but at least you get to have your own cool graphic. That’s pretty neat.

Another way is to build your own skateboard deck
http://www.instructables.com/id/Use-a-Vacuum-cleaner-to-build-your-own-Skateboard/

While this site is a little more convoluted, there are other ways to make your skateboard…and easier ways.

Basically, take whatever wood you want to use and cut out the shape of the deck. If you want concave or kicktail…well that’s going to be more difficult, but don’t worry! All you need is a couple of C-Clamps, pieces of 2×4s (probably in 5inch lengths) and a bathtub. Place the 2×4s where you want the board to bend and clamp the edges. Let the board sit in soaking water for a day or two (also depending on how hard or soft the wood you choose is) and walla! A skateboard. Me and my buds make Longboard skateboards and this is how we do it. A nice red finish is what I use for the boards but choose your own color or design.

I wish I had photos to show but the website i Used to use is down. Do your own search!

As for me, my summer project is getting my motorcycle running. Long story but I bought a bike and needs some work. I’ll keep you posted!

Also, in December I am headed out to British Columbia. If anyone is interested—contact me!
